Hello, my name is Benjamen White.

I’m a 1st year PhD student at TGAC working on host-pathogen interactions between Dioscorea alata and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, using genotyping by RNA-seq, and visualisation of this data.

Previously, Project Support Officer at TGAC for two years, working within the Project Management Team as a point of first contact for new sequencing enquiries, in addition to providing quotations, maintaining up-to-date records, and assisting with the management and delivery of projects; to ensure their required outputs are met.

Studied BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences degree at the University of East Anglia, specialising in cell biology and cancer; partaking in a final year research project and summer studentship with Prof. Dylan Edwards studying the role of novel metalloproteases in the crosstalk between adipocytes and ductal carcinoma.
